During the last few months, I have been hand quilting a large quilt that is a commissioned fund raising project for the Atlanta Quilt Festival. It has given me an opportunity to experiment with different needles.
The one thing I can definitely say is that I prefer large eye needles! My eyes are not what they once were, and I hate wasting time trying to thread a needle. Some of my favorite brands are Richard Hemming, John James and Piecemakers. I almost always us a size 10 between.
