Crossett Courthouse Steps

Crossett Courthouse Steps, 68x78 inch traditional quilt by O.V. Brantley, 2001.

I will continue to share some of my personal Black History quilts until the end of the month. Since today is President’s Day, my quilt Crossett Courthouse Steps is an easy choice.

Making a courthouse steps quilt seemed mandatory when I began quilting in 1999 since I am a lawyer. Crossett Courthouse Steps was created in 2001, making it one of my earliest quilts. Crossett is the name of the town in Arkansas where I grew up.

I spent most of my career as a government lawyer in the city and county where I live. So, Happy President’s Day from Crossett Courthouse Steps and ME!
