Often life can be full of nice surprises. The kind that make you say, “I never saw that coming.”

That is how I felt when I opened the current copy of Quiltfolk magazine and saw my quilt Good Trouble Library covering a full page in the magazine. What a nice surprise!

Here’s the back story. Good Trouble Library is part of the Good Trouble Quilts—Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Congressman John Lewis exhibit. As part of its national tour, the exhibit traveled to Texarkana, TX and happened to be installed when the Quiltfolk magazine photographers descended upon Arkansas in preparation for its upcoming Arkansas issue. The Texarkana Quilters are closely affiliated with the venue that housed the exhibit and had lobbied hard to get the exhibit.

And voila! That’s how nice surprises are made! I am deeply grateful that the editors of Quiltfolk magazine found Good Trouble Library worthy of such an honor.
Don’t forget all of the Good Trouble Quilts are now in a book available at atlantaquiltfestival.com.
