Sorors of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Visit My Long Time Coming Exhibit

On January 6th, I gave a private tour of my exhibit Long Time Coming: A Retrospective of O.V. Brantley's Red and White Quilts to members of the Atlanta Alumnae Chapter of Delta SIgma Theta Sorority. The tour was organized by the Arts and Letters committee of the chapter.

Many of the quilts in the exhibit are inspired by my long time membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. I am a charter member of the Lambda Theta Chapter at the Univeristy of Arkansas at Fayetteville, established in 1974.

They chose to take the group photo in front of Finding Fortitude, but as it turns out two other Delta quilts found their way into the picture: Star of Mu, daughter India's Delta Sigma Theta initiation quilt and Forever Bound By Delta, the first red and white quilt I made.

Star of Mu, 60 X 60 inch red and white quilt by O.V. Brantley, 2016.
Forever Bound By Delta, 66 X 78 inch red and white Irish Chain quilt by O.V. Brantley, 2001.

We had a glorious day of laughter, creativity and sisterhood.
