A Hint of Fall

A Hint of Fall

Have you ever walked outside in early September and noticed that there is something in the air that promises fall will arrive soon? Perhaps a single leaf in the driveway or an unexpected drop in temperature makes you know fall is coming — but not yet. I love looking forward to fall, my favorite season. I tried to capture that feeling in A Hint of Fall. The red hot border says it is still summer, but fall is coming.

The flower is the star of the show in A Hint of Fall. The sashing and borders in batiks, Kaffe Fasset fabrics are her supporting cast. The final African border adds a stunning finish.

This one-of-a-kind quilted wallhanging measures 44x47 inches. I pieced and quilted it on my machine.

There is a hanging sleeve on the back for easy display and a label that documents the quilt. I signed and dated it on the front.

The beautiful flower is by Stephanie Brandenburg of Frond Design Studios.
