Celebrating the Beauty of Freedom
SHIPPING DELAYED UNTIL JULY 1 DUE TO EXHIBITION.
”Celebrating the Beauty of Freedom” is part of my Juneteenth quilt collection. It is wholly machine pieced including the letters.
The colors in the quilt 44X49 inch — green, red, orange, yellow and black— are the colors now associated with the Juneteenth holiday. African strips are a nod to life before enslavement. The plaid fabric was purchased during a trip to St. Lucia.
I quilted “Celebrating the Beauty of Freedom” on my Janome sewing machine and embellished it with buttons. The hand sewn binding captures the colors of the quilt.
There is a hanging sleeve on the back for easy display, and a label that documents the quilt. I signed it on the front and added a charm that reads “Live Free”.
