Church Angel #1

I try to keep my angels close, so over the years I have created many angel quilts. Church Angel is my newest series of angel quilts. The angels in the 6 quilt series were created for an exhibit held at the First Existentialist Congregation of Atlanta which ran from January 16, 2026 - March 1, 2026.
Each angel in the series wears an African robe and is fused to a neutral background that is attached using my machine blanket stitch. Three borders frame the angel one of which is a pieced border.
“Church Angel #1” is wearing an African pink, yellow and black robe and measures 32 X 36 inches. Her robe is embellished with pink buttons. Her halo glows with pink rhinestones. Her toes are adorned with heart shaped pink buttons. She is quilted in a cross hatch pattern.
The back of the quilt is a light pink polka dot fabric. There is a hanging sleeve on the back for easy display, and a label that documents the quilt.
I signed it on the front and added an angel charm.
