PRINT of “Praise Team Praising”

In the African American church there is often a group of three singers whose job it is to fire up the worshippers to get them ready to receive the sermon. This trio is called the Praise Team and that  is what  inspired  my quilt. Some times the Praise Team wears choir robes, but often they wear their own clothes in matching colors. On this Sunday, the Praise Team is wearing red. Service is going to be on fire today!
To create this 45 X 52 inch quilt, I appliquéd the ladies by hand I added a pieced traditional four patch border. I lovingly hand quilted Praise Team Praising using an echo design in the background and a stenciled pattern in the border. 
Although the quilt was already pretty, I added star buttons in the background and embellished their outfits with crystals, pearls embroidery. After all, we always dress extra for church. 
On the original quilt there is a hanging sleeve on the back for easy display and a label that documents the quilt. I signed it on the front and added a charm that says “Angels watching over me.”
“Praise Team Praising” is part of the traveling exhibit of O.V. Brantley’s solo exhibit of her red and white quilts entitled “Long Time Coming: A Retrospective of O.V. Brantley’s Red and White Quilts”. The exhibit premiered in Atlanta, GA November 19, 2022 and will be featured at the 2023 International Quilt Festival in Houston November 2-5. The original quilt is currently not for sale.
The unframed archival pigment print (AKA Giclee) is printed on 100% cotton rag museum quality paper and framed with a white mat. Giclee prints are the state-of-the-art museum quality print medium today. The size of the matted print is 16 X 20 inches. 
I signed the print on the front. It will be shipped with care and delivered in a clear plastic bag ready for framing.
