Easter Memories

Easter was a special day in my home when I was growing up. It was the culmination of intense preparation and anticipation. Preparation included learning an Easter speech, shopping for new clothes, pressing and curling hair, and cooking way too much food. I credit my ability to speak publicly to being forced to learn and say an Easter speech every year at First Baptist Church, and I am sure I always looked my prettiest on Easter.

So I associate Easter with a lot of happy memories especially of my Mom. She was the Easter speech coach, the personal shopper, the hair stylist and the cook for my sisters Rhonda and LaJetta and me.
