My new red and white quilt series which will premier in an exhibit in 2027 celebrates women who are bodacious, beautiful and brilliant. I call that the total package. The series is inspired by barn quilts because I am a country girl at heart, and I love barn quilt art.

For each quilt, I imagine one tradition quilt block in red and white that must be very big, so all of the quilts in the series are approximately 68 X 68 inches. But wait, my quilts must always have a message, so i imagine a life message inspired by the traditional name of quilt block.

The fourth quilt in the series is named See the End From the Beginning. It features circles, circles, and more circles. The quilt reminds us to set goals (the end) and make disciplined plans (the beginning) to reach that goal.

See the End From the Beginning measures 66 X 65 inches. Two borders, including a border of appliquéd circles, frame the circle of friends. More circles show up in the form of hand made yo-yo’s and buttons.

I added the words “end” and “begin” (spelled out in scrabble tiles) to carry out the theme of the quilt.

The back of the quilt is a black and white African print. There is a hanging sleeve for easy display and a label that documents the quilt.

I signed it on the front and added a scales of justice charm to pay homage to my legal career which I hope I practiced with bodaciousness, beauty and brilliance.

I can now report that the dates for the exhibit are set! Bodacious, Beautiful and Brilliant will open January 2, 2027 at the Southwest Arts Center, 915 New Hope Road, South Fulton, GA and continue through February 6, 2027.

I will send reminders.🥰
