NEW QUILT SERIES! Bodacious Beautiful and Brilliant

I am always thinking of ways to use the huge amount of red fabric I own. The latest brainstorm is a new series I named Bodacious Beautiful and Brilliant.

The quilts in this series are inspired by barn quilts. Never forget I am a Country girl at heart. Often when you drive through the country, you may see a quilt block painting on the side of the barn. (Barn quilts are painted, not quilted). The paintings are usually big so that they can be enjoyed from a distance, and they are mostly traditional quilt blocks.

I love traditional quilt blocks. I love red and white quilts. Put them together and my Bodacious Beautiful and Brilliant series was born. Of course I always put my unique twist on tradition so each of these quilts contain a message that is inspired by the name of the block and unique fabrics collected during my travels. Forever Bound by Delta (shown) is not part of the series, but this quilt essentially spawned all my red and white quilts because it was the first.

This will be a long journey toward some day having enough of the quilts to stage another solo exhibit. I estimate I will need at least 20 quilts for an interesting exhibit so stay tuned!👩🏽‍🌾
