We all work on our individual projects at the weekly gathering of the Welcome All Quilters. The meeting format allows plenty of opportunity for sharing and encouragement.
This week I am working on my red and white Kawandi quilt. This quilt will be part of my exhibit Long Time Coming: A Retrospective of O.V. Brantley's Red and White Quilts." The exhibit opens November 19 and continues through January 13, 2023 at the Emma Darnell Aviation Museum and Conference Center, 3900 Aviation Circle in Atlanta. The opening reception is November 19 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Please SAVE THE DATE!
I learned the Kawandi technique at a class at the Atlanta Quilt Festival taught by Aleathia Chisolm. I completed my class project. Now I am working on perfecting my stitch.
