A Day at the Atlanta Quilt Festival

My Road Dog Daugher India and I spent yesterday staffing the Atlanta Quilt Festival. We did whatever was necessary to keep the Beginning Quilting class and the Creative Dollmaking class running smoothly.

Mission accomplished! We made sure the students in the Beginning Quilting Class “graduated. We are proud of the new babies we helped “birth” in the Creative Dollmaking class.

Beginning Quilting was taught by Nina Moore and Creative Dollmaking was taught by Jan Hollins. Both of these ladies are masters at their craft.

The Atlanta Quilt Festival happens every August to celebrate African American quilts. It features quilt exhibits, workshops, classes, demonstrations, and trunk shows. All activities are at the Southwest Arts Center, 915 New Hope Road, South Fulton, GA, The exhibit runs through August 27th. Viewing hours are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily. I am proud to be a co-founder, along with Marva Swanson and Aleathia Chisolm.
