Is it okay to celebrate yourself on Mother’s Day? I think so. Now with the hindsight of 33 years, I think I did a pretty good job at motherhood (with a lot of help of course).

India, my only daughter, and Brittany, who is my “like a daughter niece” have matured into wonderful women who are now my friends. I now know they were listening even when I thought they were not.

Luckily, I knew I had to do motherhood my way. Sometimes I marched to the beat of a different drummer as I struggled with divorced, professional woman parenting, but values like resolve, fortitude and achieve were my North Star (which is why this quilt hangs in my bedroom). Happily, my way resulted in two smart independent women who are now my ride or die friends.

Happy Mother’s Day to me! I am grateful, blessed and patting myself on the back.🥰
