Here’s a sneak peek at what’s in my hoop. I always keep a hand quilting project going because it's my thinking therapy. I tend to be able to solve difficult problems while I quilt. Discovering this added benefit of quilting helped me tremendously in my legal career.
This quilt, named Floating Flowers, is a panel quilt. I love the big luscious flowers created by Stephanie Brandenburg, and I have made several quilts that incorporate her flowers. However, the flowers are just the beginning. I love to make them play nice with other non-traditional fabrics. For me, it's a metaphor of of my belief that we must all live on this planet together.
I never know how long it will take me to finish hand quilting a quilt because I choose the quilting designs as I go along. And of course, who now's what may be going on in my life that may interrupt the process. I just enjoy the journey, and when it's finished, it's finished.
Maybe if I work on a happy flower quilt, spring will come sooner. Fingers crossed.🤞🏾 🌺🥀🪻
