Heart button detail of Have a Changed Heart

Today’s red and white quilt is Have a Changed Heart. It is a simple quilt with a powerful message — just one big heart embellished with heart buttons. The fabric on the back is a red African print with gold metallic.

Have a Changed Heart. is part of my personal collection of red and white quilts and is not for sale at this time. Maybe later.

Back of Have a Changed Heart

The pattern for Have a Changed Heart is by J. Michelle Watts (@jmichellewatts). It was machine quilted by my friend Maxine Moore (@mooremorequilts) who makes all of my quilts more beautiful. She was professionally photographed by Ron Witherspoon (@ronwitherspoon) just in case she makes the cut for my one woman show of red and white quilts next year.

When I made Have a Changed Heart in 2019 and gave it its title, I was thinking about the racial unrest in the country, hoping hearts and minds would change. Since we are celebrating an interracial wedding, maybe we are taking baby steps toward hearts that accept all people. The Brantley/Kleeman family is happy to do its part.🥰

India and Eric at their family only wedding 10.10.20.
