Introducing My New Quilt “Look Good. Feel Good. Do Good. #4”

Look Good. Feel Good. Do Good #4 is part of my new affirmation series. I believe that you do your best work (whatever that work is) when you look good and feel good. Each of the quilts in this series starts with a center panel of an African woman looking her best. Her dress inspires the color of each quilt, and I add the words “Look Good. Feel Good. Do Good” in my own handwriting on each quilt.
Look Good. Feel Good. Do Good #4 measures 27 X 33 inches and is primarily purple and gold. It includes African and domestic fabrics. (I love the butterflies). Most African fabrics feature large prints, but this quilt features a purple and gold African brocade in the border.
I quilted the quilt on my new Sashiko machine. It creates a stitch that mimics the look of hand quilting which I love. I quilted Look Good. Feel Good. Do Good. #4 in a diagonal pattern in purple variegated thread. The big stitches become a design element.
Look Good. Feel Good. Do Good #4 is embellished with painted buttons, words, and a charm. The charm near my signature reads “Life is good”.
The back of the quilt features purple African ladies on a black background. There is a hanging sleeve on the back for easy display and a label that documents the quilt.
I signed it on the front. Look Good. Feel Good. Do Good #4 is unique and one-of-a-kind although it is part of a series.
