Mocha Mousse is Color of the Year

The world is finally following my lead. Mocha Mousse or something similar has been my favorite color all my life and informed many of my early quilts.

Peaceful Porch Patchwork #2, 38 X 41 inch hand quilted taupe quilt by O.V. Brantley, 2024. On sale $525.

Shades of brown, which include taupe, are calming to me. I always have a taupe quilt in my hoop.

Coffee with Cream Please, 64 X 76 inch coffee themed sampler quilt by O.V. Brantley, 2010. She lives in my bedroom.

According to Pantone, they chose the color because we now want peace in our lives. It nurtures us with its suggestion of the delectable qualities of chocolate and coffee, answering our desire for comfort.

Colored Girl Dreams, 80 X 80 inch traditional quilt by O.V. Brantley, 2011.

I love coffee and chocolate, so I think they got it right. Personally, I have always viewed a warm brown as understated elegance.

So in short, I am glad the world is following my lead. I hope you enjoyed my brown quilt parade. After my coffee, I think I will start a new mocha mousse quilt.😍
