India and I always build in some down time on our trips. After presenting four Gallery Talks each day for three straight days for both my Long Time Coming exhibit and the Good Trouble Quilts exhibit, we were ready for some rest and relaxation.
In addition to being connected to the George R. Brown Convention Center where the International Quilt Festival was held, the Marriott Marquis has a beautiful pool area with a full bar. The pool is shaped like Texas! Even though it was 32 degrees when we left Atlanta on Wednesday, the weather was warm and wonderful in Houston by Sunday.
Next task -- helping deinstall the International Quilt Festival exhibits, but that's later. For now the most important thing on the agenda is a delicious pina colada in the sunshine. Like I said, work hard, play hard. Cheers!🏝️🥂
