Sing a Happy Song is composed of 4 different traditional blocks in a black, white and yellow color scheme. Each block contains a musical motif.

To add a modern flair to the traditional blocks and to add interest to the design, I offset the traditional blocks with African green kente fabric. Three different African borders complete the quilt making it measure 54 x 65 inches.

My friend Maxine Moore quilted it on her long arm quilting machine. I used a black fabric with gold metallic dots to bind the quilt.

The back of the quilt is a yellow, green and black striped African fabric. I added a hanging sleeve for easy display, and a label documents the quilt.
