There is a lot to see in my quilt The Adventures of Africa. I tried to capture the beautiful diverse tapestry that is Africa.
There are herds of elephants, joyous people, all kinds of animals and vibrant colors that capture the essence of the continent. Of special note are the panels by Julia Cairns who created the whimsical panels included in the quilt.
The Adventures of Africa measures 51x57 inches. I pieced it on my Janome sewing machine. My friend Maxine Moore quilted it on her long arm. The quilt is framed by a vibrant African fabric of green orange and wine. The binding is a green star print that hopefully adds sparkle to the quilt.
There is a hanging sleeve on the back for easy display and a label that documents the quilt. I signed it on the front.
This quilt is one-of-a-kind.
